Dr. Hussein Mohamed is a distinguished academic and practitioner in the field of environmental and occupational health in Tanzania. He serves as a lecturer in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Dar es Salaam. At MUHAS, Dr. Mohamed is actively involved in teaching and research, focusing on areas such as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), occupational health, infection prevention and control, and the health impacts of pesticides.

In addition to his academic role, Dr. Mohamed holds the position of Chairman of the Environmental Health Practitioners Registration Council. In this capacity, he oversees the regulation and registration of environmental health practitioners in Tanzania, ensuring adherence to professional standards and the promotion of public health.

Dr. Mohamed has contributed to various research publications, including a study on access to WASH services and preventive measures against COVID-19 among people with disabilities in Dodoma, Tanzania. His work has been instrumental in addressing public health challenges in Tanzania, particularly in improving access to essential health services and promoting environmental health standards.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Sciences from MUHAS and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Science at Shivaji University, India.

Amelia's research interests include water quality monitoring, air pollution, and climate change, with an emphasis on their impacts on community health. Her ongoing projects include evaluating drinking water treatment plants and distribution networks and studying the relationship between particulate matter and childhood pneumonia.
